Off To A Flying Start!
Within 48 hours, the Guide attracted major support from members.
Kimberlee Murray: This is definitely a useful tool when creating a game plan for navigating the industry!
Kara Zacconi: I am going to class right now...Great USEFUL info. Thanks.
Cydny Pina: This is a great eye-opener! Thanks!
Alexandra Shieron: Wow...so useful! A little frustrating to see that 'contemporary' and 'modern' has tons of auditions but no high paying jobs. Especially since college programs focus so highly on concert dance. I'll definitely be getting my butt to classes that push my limits more.
Darrell Payne: This is another great tool to help us reach our goals!
Joining MSA's JC Gutierrez and GTA's Terry Lindholm for the Guide's Fall edition will be Jim Keith, founder of the newly-launched Movement Agency. A long-time supporter of A4D's 'informational' approach to the biz, Jim had this to say: 'I welcome this opportunity to help Grover educate the growing community of working pros he's creating online.'
Along with colleagues, Jim will provide stats for the Guide's Fall audition tracking system.

Sir Paul McCartney has vowed to do everything in his power to help jailed rockers, Pussy Riot. Three stars of the Russian band are behind bars, a Moscow judge having sentenced them to 2 years in prison on charges of hooliganism after they performed a protest song against President Vladimir Putin at a church in Moscow earlier this year. Singers including Madonna (photo) and Bjork have already thrown their weight behind a campaign to free the trio, and now Beatles legend McCartney has joined them, insisting jailing the musicians impinges on their "artistic freedom".
SOLO ACCUSES DWTS' MAKSIM In Hope Solo's new book, 'Solo: A Memoir of Hope,' the 31-year-old soccer player accuses her former DANCING WITH THE STARS partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy of becoming physically aggressive during a Season 11 rehearsal. According to Solo, Chmerkovskiy, 32, "slapped" her "hard" on the face while trying to correct one of her dance moves. "He manhandled me in rehearsals from the start, pushing me, whacking my stomach, bending my arms roughly. I thought that was just how it went - how dancers worked with each other... but it kept getting worse..." Maksim responded, "Always hated hypocrites and liars, but when someone is both and an opportunist, I just feel bad for them. Can't win at someone's expense."
PORTMAN REPAYS BALLERINA Natalie Portman has repaid ballerina Mary Helen Bowers, who trained her for BLACK SWAN, by writing the foreword to her new fitness book, 'Ballet Beautiful.' Portman writes, "My posture looked like I'd swallowed a broom... I had the same body since (I was) 14. With Mary Helen, it's completely transformed. I gained length, strength and tone. Arms and legs changed shape. In awe of dancers' bodies - definition in their arms, strong legs and beautiful line extending from fingertips to toes... (plus her) healthy diet in conjunction with the exercises achieved our fitness goals."

MADONNA SUED BY ANTI-GAY RUSSIANS A group of Russian anti-gay activists sued Madonna for $10 million, saying she had insulted their feelings when she spoke out for gay rights at a concert in St Petersburg last week. Performing in black lingerie with the words "No Fear" scrawled on her back, Madonna attacked a city law adopted in March that imposed fines for spreading homosexual "propaganda". She had earlier called the law a "ridiculous atrocity". Homosexuality was decriminalized in Russia in 1993, but much of the gay community remains underground as prejudice runs deep.

She told Oprah Winfrey in a TV interview that she and Brown had rebuilt their trust and now had a "very close friendship". Since the restraining order was lifted last year, the pair have teamed up in the studio on a couple of single tracks, fueling speculation that they were back together. Rihnna said, "... it has not been easy... We built a trust again and that's it. We love each other and we probably always will and that's not anything we're gonna try to change.".
NO COLD FEET FOR BRIT "Everything is absolutely fine between them [Britney Spears & Jason Trawick]. The wedding is not off," a source close to Spears stated, after she was spotted sans engagement ring. "They are as blissfully happy as ever but they want to get 'The X-Factor' out the way before they even start planning a wedding. When they got engaged, they were not in any rush to walk down the aisle, they want to take things slow and have time to plan the perfect wedding and make everything very special for them and the boys. They are essentially married anyway because they live together and are always together."
GAGA GOES BRUNETTE We've seen her with blond, orange, gray, lemon sorbet, pink taffeta, Rainbow Brite, cotton candy swirl and My Little Pony hair. Now, she's back to her natural color - brown - or, as Gaga likes to call it, Louis Vuitton Brown. "Definitely feeling less blond lately and little more progressive brunette," she Tweeted.
