Currently delivering insights about the B’way job scene on our Video Zone, Lorin Latarro is making strides in transitioning to choreography. Her debut asssignment will be the Cy Coleman Revue “The Best Is Yet To Come” opening July 19 at the Rubicon Theatre in Ventura, CA followed soon after by a yet-to-be-named revival in New York for the City Center’s Encores Series. After booking the film “Enchanted” last year, 15-year-old Marina is now appearing on Broadway in “Billy Elliot.” As she shared her journey with Grover Dale in the lobby of the Imperial Theatre, we learned that mom and dad make sure the whole family stays informed with an A4D membership. Dra got high marks from seven different dance agencies at Grover Dale’s 2008 workshop / agent showcase. This month, he was signed by McDonald Selznick Associates in Hollywood. Congrats Dra. Full steam ahead.

After high school, Amanda packed her bags and made the move from Ontario, Canada to L.A. She arrived jobless, with only enough money to live and take dance classes. My name is Samantha Farrow and I have been a member of Answers4Dancers for a few years, thanks to my friend Karla. I booked the creation for the new Cirque Du Soleil show Zaia last September, after seeing the posting for the show on A4D. They were looking for dancers for their new show in Macau, China, and what do you know, I was chosen as one of those dancers!

15-year old member SHARICE MACK attended a feature film audition her mom found on the A4D East Coast Auditions page. Director Antonio De La Cruz read her for a role and cast her as a teen taking a hip hop class. Congrats Sharice. You and your mom did good.

The search is over for a Cinderella-type to take to the senior prom in “Romeo’s World: Welcome To The Good Life.” LaLa was chosen. In addition to this success, the buzz is strong that she may also be used in the director’s upcoming untitled feature.

Colby booked a summer production of “Half A Sixpence.” at the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, Connecticut.

Malerie Grady was booked by choreographer Marguerite Derricks for a Shisheido commercial. If you’ve seen the “Taking Out The Competition” vid on A4D, you’ll know we’re on the money when we say she’s a remarkably well-rounded dancer. A graduate of our 2006-2007 and 08 workshops, she has plenty of good things to say about the experience.

Repped by Clear Talent Group, A4D member Lala shared some good news with us.  She landed a lead role in Mario’s “Music For Love” vid.  Choreographer: Jamaica.

Lauren Gottlieb, an A4D member who made it to the top 6 on Season 3 of So You Think You Can Dance has booked the Mariah Carey tour. Lauren recently appeared with 7 other dancers with Mariah Carey on Good Morning America in New York City. Next up on their calendar, Dubai and Japan!

Deana Morgan is a 44-year old dancer who runs a dance academy in Yorkshire, England. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in Oct 2006 and following surgery, responded to an ad which read, "Are you over 40? Do you miss your fishnets and feathers?" She came out of retirement and became a "Golden Girl" in a professional show last summer, and was then asked to appear in a Golden Rainbow Charity fund raiser in Las Vegas - she became a Vegas showgirl at the age of 44!

Adriani Paterson (MSA) booked the Miss Vietnam USA pageant at the Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino Theater in Las Vegas. “Answers4Dancers has motivated me to always seek auditions and work, in addition to the opportunities my agent finds for me. We can’t expect our agents to do all the work. A4D is great because it gives me another outlet to find what’s right for me.”

“I won $10,000,” reports Mary Gentry. “All I had to do was dance and ask my friends/fans to vote for me online. I am a full-time college student in Fairfax, Va., and cannot afford to miss a class to audition for So You Think You Can Dance. I tried Famecast and thanks to everyone in the dance world I won!!! When "short-notice" auditions come in, we always generate an "alert" to members. Last week, a call came in seeking tap dancers for a commercial to be shot in Japan. Minutes after reaching Tonya Kay's inbox, she took action. Within hours of submitting her demo reel, she was booked for the gig. Before boarding a flight to Tokyo, Tonya called to say how happy she was to get the alert and another new job experience. YES, WE LIKE IT, TOO TONYA! Once again, member advantages pay off.

When A4D covered an audition for L.A.’s Hysterica Dance Company, our cameras quickly discovered that the moves of 17-year-old Denna Thomsen from Colorado were catching the eyes of company directors, Kitty McNamee and Ryan Heffington. Upon interviewing Denna, we learned she recently joined A4D and this was her first attempt to gain entry to the west coast job market. Grover gave me advice a while back regarding an agent for my 8-year-old daughter, Ysabella. I want to share some good news with you. We took her to three open auditions (DDO, CTG, and Bloc). Bloc is signing her next week.
