"I honestly feel like the time has come that I have to get back to doing the other things that I do that I've put kind of on hold because I love 'Idol' so much." The show's ratings have declined as TV's talent show field has grown more competitive. Speculation about potential new panelists has focused on Mariah Carey.

MADONNA SUED OVER "VOGUE"VMG, a company out of Delaware, has filed suit against Madonna and her record label over the 1990 hit "Vogue," claiming Madonna sampled portions of a composition called "Love Break," which was released around 1977. The company claims, "The portions of "Love Break, which have been copied into Vogue and all its various 'mixes,' 'remixes' videos, YouTube versions, etc. are numerous but intentionally hidden. The horn and strings in 'Vogue' are intentionally sampled from 'Love Break' throughout. The unauthorized sampling was deliberately hidden by [Madonna] within 'Vogue' so as to avoid detection."
'SOUL TRAIN' TO BWAY
NBA star-turned-entrepreneur Earvin 'Magic' Johnson plans to bring SOUL TRAIN to Bway as a musical. Johnson purchased the Soul Train brand in 2011 to revive it for TV, print and stage outlets, and has been working with investors to actively move forward with a musical. Johnson had a hand in producing this year's short-lived MAGIC/BIRD on Bway, which was based on his rivalry and friendship with Larry Bird. In its 35-year history, SOUL TRAIN primarily featured performances by R&B, soul, and hip hop performers, along with funk, jazz, disco, and gospel artists.
