In this month's Hot Topic, members will plug into JAMIE KING's meteoric rise from back-up dancer to the relied-upon directorial influence responsible for creating the sellout tours of Britney, Madonna, Rhianna, Michael, and J-Lo. Sources tell us that key players on Jamie's team include the agent duo of Tony Selznick and Julie MacDonald (MSA). Monday, Aug 1 is the delivery date. Suck it up. If Jamie knew what to do with his creative streak, why shouldn't other dancers do it, too?

Inside info is just a few clicks away...with plenty of new vids on the way featuring agents like Terry Lindholm, Lisa Lindholm, Brianna Barcus, and Jim Keith. Agent representation has never looked better!

BEYONCE TO STAR IN 'A STAR IS BORN'
Beyonce Knowles is humbled by what she calls "the biggest opportunity of my life" - the lead role in Clint Eastwood's remake of the film, "A Star Is Born." She feels lucky to have landed the iconic role previously played by Barbra Streisand and Judy Garland. Eastwood will helm the 4th remake of the story about rising singer and actress Esther Blodgett, and Beyonce fondly remembers watching previous versions of the movie with her mother. "It's when I became a fan of Barbra Streisand's. And I then saw Judy Garland's version of 'A Star Is Born' and I realized every 20 to 30 years a new star is born and a new talent represents that generation and era - so I didn't think that I would ever get the opportunity to be the star." The film is due to begin shooting at the end of the year and word has it, may co-star Leonardo DiCaprio.
GLEE RELIEF
Although it was reported that Ryan Murphy announced that Lea Michele, Cory Monteith and Chris Colfer would be graduating at the end of next season and not returning to the show, exec producer Brad Falchuck, speaking at Comic-Con, claims that's not the case at all. "They're seniors. They're graduating. But [just] because they're graduating doesn't mean they're leaving the show. If you have Lea Michele under contract, you don't say, 'We're gonna let you go.' It was never our plan or our intention to let them go. They are not done with the show after this season.".
Eddie Garcia's 3-D project 'Twisted Branches' is getting extra attention from LA's movers and shakers. We hear it's the event to be seen...or be seen at. Agents, producers, choreos...they're all showing up! It's part of Dee Caspary's 2-week Nvitational at the El Portal Theatre in North Hollywood - 8:30pm - See ya there. (See 'Nvitational' Hot Performance above)
SYTYCD: 10 MINUS 2 = 8 DANCIN'
After fighting tooth and nail dancing self- choreographed solos, Clarice Ordaz and Mitchell Kelly (photo w/Cat Deeley) were let go. Judge Nigel Lythgoe and guest judge Neil Patrick Harris explained the decision. "It's always about everything we know about them, but it's easier to turn around at this stage of the game and say it is about the solos, because when one solo is better than another, we can leave it at that," Nigel said. Harris added, "I sort of in the deliberations kept looking at Nigel, because he's the boss, he's like the mafia. That being said, I tried to look ahead and imagine those 4 dancers in future weeks and tried to imagine how they would be and that influenced my decision."
'HAIR' HOSTS SAME-SEX MARRIAGES
This week, several same-sex couples from the Broadway community wed onstage at the St. James Theatre immediately following the evening's performance of HAIR. These unions are among the very first in New York State, following the landmark bill recently passed by state legislators. The event was arranged by HAIR and Broadway Impact. SCOTTSBORO BOYS' Colman Domingo officiated at the ceremonies.
GAGA & MARSHALL JUDGE SYTYCD
"My hat's off to you, baby," Gaga told Melanie Moore on last night's show, after hurtling into Neil Haskell's arms during a Mandy Moore contemporary number. "I would hire you tomorrow to dance on my tour all around the world." Nigel Lythgoe deemed Sasha Mallory his fave after she kicked off the show quickstepping with Pasha Kovalev, but he had to get on the Melanie train, too. Sasha performed a showstopping jazz routine that had the whole audience out of their seats — and Lady Gaga out of her mile-high platforms...soon offering up one shoe to the dancers and another to Sonya Tayeh for choreographing the piece. Fellow guest judge Rob Marshall at one point questionned why (after Jess and Jordan's theatrical rumba) people saying something is "so Broadway" is bad. "Broadway is fantastic!" the award-winning stage and screen director delightfully noted.
CRISS TO REPLACE RADCLIFFE ON BWAY?
Glee star Darren Criss has been tipped to take over
from Daniel Radcliffe in the Broadway production of How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying. Radcliffe has been showing off his singing and dancing skills in the musical this year, but he is due to step down in Jan to resume his movie career. It has emerged that Criss is in talks to take over. If a deal is struck, he will join the show for a 3-week run from Jan 3-22.
HOLLYWOOD COURTS SOCIAL MEDIA
Justin Timberlake and Lady Gaga are among the growing ranks of celebrities who, rather than employ their star power to hawk consumer products, are increasingly driving high-tech investments. Timberlake made waves last month when he bought a stake in ailing social network Myspace, and will play a crucial role in revitalizing the web company. "We live in a world of brands," said Howard Bragman, PR exec and founder of the strategic media agency Fifteen Minutes. "A handful of smart celebrities and their reps realize that all the areas where they can flex their marketing muscle are financial opportunities." Lady Gaga has teamed up with Google Exec Chairman Eric Schmidt's Tomorrow Ventures to invest in Backplane, slated to launch in August.
CHER & GAGA TO DUET
Lady Gaga will team up with Cher for a
collaboration after Cher expressed how thrilled she was was when Gaga wrote a song for her new album. Cher previously insisted the track, titled 'The Greatest Thing,' would not be a duet, but she has now revealed Gaga will be joining her in the studio to record vocals for the song. In a post on Twitter.com, Cher writes, "Can't wait till Gaga puts her voice on The Greatest Thing. She will rock it so f**kng (sic) hard!"
JACKSON TRIBUTE CONCERT PLANNED
Several members of Michael Jackson's family
unveiled plans for a tribute concert to the late King of Pop, but performers went unnamed. The show, supported by family matriarch Katherine Jackson, will be held Oct 8 in Cardiff, Wales at the Millennium Stadium, and broadcast live via satellite on pay-per-view TV and into movie theaters around the world. Within hours of the announcement, however, Michael's other brothers, Jermaine and Randy distanced themselves from the statement, claiming the family should be focusing on the upcoming manslaughter trial surrounding Michael's death, and not planning a celebration.
CHILDREN'S MUSICALS FIND HOME IN NYC
"We have seen a tremendous increase...in works for young people around town," says Cora Cahan, president of The New 42nd Street, a nonprofit responsible for reviving 42nd Street and operating the New Victory Theater, the city's first and only full-time performing arts theater for kids and their families. Transforming popular children's' books into musicals has the advantage of immediate brand recognition, tried and tested stories, and parents who grew up on the books and want to pass that love down to their kids.
