SURVEY REVEALS PLENTY ABOUT THE JOB SCENE!
Recently, we sent out a survey exploring members' reactions to the skills that work best at auditions and on-the-job. One week later, we invited the public to participate as well. The results are fascinating! View them below.
'NEWSIES' A KICK ... AND THEN SOME Reflective of the overall reaction to Newsies' opening is Ben Brantley's review in The New York Times: Of the songs by Alan Menken (music) and Jack Feldman (lyrics): "... if you asked me to explain what distinguishes one of these songs from another, I couldn't begin to without consulting... director, Jeff Calhoun, and book writer, Harvey Fierstein... But that doesn't stop them [the performers] from burning energy like toddlers on a sugar high at a birthday party. As choreographed by Christopher Gattelli, they keep coming at us in full-speed-ahead phalanxes, fortified by every step in a Broadway-by-the-numbers dance book. There are back flips, cartwheels, somersaults and kick lines galore, not to mention enough pirouettes to fill a whole season of 'Swan Lake'."
'GLEE' TO APPEAR ON 'INSIDE THE ACTOR'S STUDIO' Bravo Media welcomes the cast and creator of GLEE to INSIDE THE ACTOR'S STUDIO, premiering Apr 9. Currently in its 18th season, host James Lipton is joined by cast members Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison, Jane Lynch, Chris Colfer, Cory Monteith and co-creator Ryan Murphy. RIHANNA WANTS TO PLAY WHITNEY If a film is ever made about Whitney Houston, Rihanna says she would be honored to play her. While such a project has yet to be announced, other names that have been thrown about include Jennifer Hudson, Brandy, Jordin Sparks and actress Meagan Good, who said that she and Houston had actually begun discussions about a possible movie for Good to star in. As for Rihanna's participation, she said, "That would be something that I would have to give my entire life to do because I would want to really pull it off."
MADONNA FRAGRANCE VID AD PROVES TOO MUCH On the heels of Madonna's music vid, 'Girl Gone Wild', deemed too raunchy for YouTube, the superstar's racy new perfume ad has left a lingering scent among ABC TV execs, who have reportedly asked her to make some changes to the flesh-flashing spot. ABC balked at revealing footage of Madge's breasts and butt in the 30-second spot for her new fragrance, Truth or Dare, and are pushing for some digital touch-ups before they deem it suitable for airing. The black-and-white ad shows the star cavorting in fetishistic black getups that evoke her Erotica heyday, laced with a little Vogue glam.

In more than 25 years of performing I have never worked so hard or been so scrupulous. There's been lots of cardio and I'm doing a combination of Pilates and dance cardio... The envelope I'm pushing for is as spectacular a show as I can. It should be a feast for the eyes and ears." She adds, "My kids are brutally honest when it comes to what they don't like. They have no tact whatsoever... It's hurtful but at least they're honest."
WAGNER DISMISSED FROM DWTS Jack Wagner remains among "The Bold and the Beautiful," but his time on "Dancing With the Stars" is done. The 52-year-old actor, along with pro partner Anna Trebunskaya, were axed from Dancing With The Stars despite turning in a samba that the judges praised. Wagner said he had a great time on the show and wished the remaining contestants good luck.
