VALUABLE PLAYERS OF THE YEAR! When dancers go the extra distance to make themselves valuable to others...it speaks to something we can always use more of these days...'community building.' In 2010, plenty of builders showed up on iDANCE2. Because so many were involved...the task of recognizing a few challenged us to the core. The 3 dancers you read about here are among the many who show up as dedicated to giving as they are to getting.
LAUREN CANNON Lauren made a recent leap to New York City. Positive feedback on her demo reel quickly led to an agent referral. We just got word that she was signed by DDO, which qualifies her for a 'Dancers 2 Watch' position. She was the first add for 2011.
ANTONIO MARTINEZ Team-playing and enthusiasm comes easy to Antonio. In just a few weeks, he has attracted and given away plenty of both. With 3 strong demo reels up his sleeve, he was added to our most recent list of agent referrals. Antonio recently signed with MSA, and is now featured on 'Dancers 2 Watch.' The Latin Ballroom Reel he developed on iDANCE2 secured him a leading role in a national Dove commercial.
TARYN-ELLE FAUSTMAN Canadian dancer Taryn-elle didn't hesitate to use or reciprocate to the feedback she got on iDANCE2. The personable reel she built there illustrates how effectively she works with others. When her visa application and relocation plans fall into place, the agent referral and Dancers 2 Watch position she needs will be waiting for her.
Madonna may be planning to have the cast of GLEE support her on her next world tour. The singer is allegedly planning to incorporate live performances based on 'The Power Of Madonna' episode, which first aired in April 2010, into a new show later this year. A source reports, "Madonna wants to break records and make her career bigger than ever. And because the Glee episode featuring her music was such a hit, there are plans for the cast to appear...This could be her last big world tour she does for a while as she wants to concentrate on business ventures." An EP featuring songs from GLEE's Madonna tribute episode reached the top the US Billboard 200 last year.
BRIT NAMES NEW ALBUM 'FEMME FATALE' Britney Spears' new album finally has a name - "Femme Fatale." The pop star announced the title of her 7th studio set via Twitter and posted the cover art (see photo). The album is set for release on March 15. "I've poured my heart and soul into this album over the last 2 years," Spears tweeted. "...This album is for you, my fans, who have always supported me and have stuck by me every step of the way! I love you all!" Stories have been swirling that Britney used a "dance double" but music director Jonas Akerlund has put the rumor to rest, saying, "She's been great throughout the entire process. I've been around long enough to know when an artist gives it their all, and to me it doesn't get better than this...It's all Britney."
BUY A MOVIE TICKET TO HEAR GAGA & ELTON If you want to hear Elton John's duet with Lady Gaga, you'll apparently have to buy a movie ticket. The soundtrack version of "Hello Hello," the slow-tempo pop ditty written for the upcoming animated film "Gnomeo & Juliet," only features the Rocket Man, while the rendition including Lady Gaga is only in the movie. John said in an interview that he asked Gaga to join him for the song last year after she performed at a charity benefit at his home in England.

RIHANNA'S VIDEO KINKY, CATCHY Rihanna is known for pushing the artistic limit, but her new music video for 'S&M' may just top them all. The video seems to have a pointed message to the media, as members of the "press" are shown bound and gagged while the singer is trapped up against a wall in plastic wrap during a press conference, and seen in provocative leather get-ups throughout. The song's lyrics speak for themself: "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but chains and whips excite me." 'S&M' is the third single from Rihanna's platinum-selling disc, 'Loud.' The single has provoked censorship bosses around the world - it has been axed from the BBC's daytime radio playlist and the promo is banned in 11 countries. The Daily Mirror reports that the BBC has refused to allow DJs on its flagship station Radio 1 to play the song before 7pm.

JANET TALKS BROADWAY In a recent interview singer Janet Jackson expressed that there's one thing in her career that she still hasn't had the chance to do - Broadway. Though not as established an actress as a singer, she has appeared in a handful of movies in the past few years and would like to expand that experience to include theater. "It would be fun to be on Broadway," the 44-year-old said. "There is a whole different discipline to that schedule and I would like to experience it." This isn't the first time Jackson has mentioned Broadway; in 1998 she told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette "I'm crazy about Broadway...that's what I grew up on."
HOUGH TAKING A BREAK After heating up the dancefloor for 7 seasons on 'Dancing with the Stars,' Derek Hough is taking a much-deserved break. The dancer-choreographer will be spending season 12 away from the ballroom to film dance flick 'Cobu 3D' in which he plays a New Orleans dancer who falls for the drummer of a rival dance group while trying to make it in New York. I'll come back with a whole new set of skills."
GLEE CAST APOLOGIZES TO LOHAN Lindsay Lohan ran into the cast of 'Glee' on Sunday's SAG Awards night, and they apologized to her for making fun of the actress in an episode that aired last year. Lohan was out to dinner in West Hollywood, and the cast (minus Lea Michele and Jane Lynch) walked up to Lohan and apologized for the jokes made where they referenced Lohan's frequent trips to rehab. Lohan reportedly accepted their apology. In the 'Glee' episode, Gwyneth Paltrow guest starred as a Spanish teacher who referenced the actress in a lesson, asking, "Lindsay Lohan is totally crazy, right?" She then asked her students in Spanish, "How many times has Lindsay Lohan been to rehab?" Apparently Lohan saw the show and wasn't too happy.
